All of us know someone in our life that has been affected by cancer. My dad died of brain cancer and a dear friend is fighting stage 4 colon cancer. There is good information all around. Who doesn't love a good and after story? I saw one about a Mother and Daughter that lost over 400 pounds and saw a great idea that they do - Whenever they go out to dinner, they ask for an extra plate. When their food arrives they take everything off their plate that isn't good for them and put it in a pile on that plate, making it unappetizing and allowing them to enjoy the healthy portion of their food. Our food sources are already diminished because of the lack of nutrients in our soil. Our food does not hold the same minerals as it did 60 years ago. That almost sounds counter intuitive in the day of drive thru, delivery, cars, internet and people in general trying to make our lives easier. The problem is that it slows down our metabolism! Why do our bodies need to burn calories if we give it constant access and no need to burn? The challenge is this - make your life a little inconvenient. If it involves "work" you're on the right track. Is it better to pop a dinner into a microwave or throwing a meal together? No brainer, I don't even have to point out the nutritional bonus points along with the calories burned just by standing for a bit to cook your own meal. Think about what you can do to put more steps in your day (you might want to make sure your shoes aren't what's keeping you from doing that). An inconvenient life not only makes you stronger, it gives you a sense of accomplishment and that's something you can't package :)
I had no idea there were different ways to run, and I've played sports and worked out for years! The way described here really makes sense in helping reduce injuries.

Yep, that's me. I hate being in pictures. Hardly have any of me. Can my cheeks be any more chipmonkeyish? lol Why yes, they can. That's why it was time to stop not thinking about it and just do it.
I'm definitely a skinny chick caught in a fat chick's body. Breaking my association with fat is one of my steps to leaving it behind, it's not who I am. I'm the girl who likes to wear cute, form fitting clothes and shop at normal stores. I'm the person that is athletic and enjoys the outdoors. I need my body to reflect my lifestyle! About 15 years ago I was a certified personal trainer. I then went through a divorce and got a desk job and it's been downhill since.
Since I was a child I had a bad body image. I looked in the mirror and saw someone big. Oh how I wish I was as "big" as I was in high school! lol Just the shining example that I'm not a very good judge of myself. I have done Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, Flat Belly, blah blah blah. Worst part, I was successful at them all! Problem was that I stopped. I refuse to stop trying now. I can, I will, I am :)
