~ CANCER FIGHTING FOODAll of us know someone in our life that has been affected by cancer. My dad died of brain cancer and a dear friend of stage 4 colon cancer. In researching how to help you can't help but notice that the food we eat plays a major role in avoiding and fighting cancer. Here are some foods you definitely want to fit into your daily lifestyle.

~ECCENTRIC TRAINING!This was such an awesome video!!! Good info on how to activate your strength, breathe properly and get the extra boost out of your workouts!
~GMO'sBy now most people have heard of GMO's (Genetically Modified Organisms). If not, here is a link for information on it http://strongertogether.coop/fresh-from-the-source/what-is-a-gmo/. You may also have heard that it was possible to tell from the PLU code which fruits/veggies were GMO's. Just found this bummer http://www.foodrenegade.com/plu-codes-dont-indicate-gmo-produce/.
Our food sources are already diminished because of the lack of nutrients in our soil. Our food does not hold the same minerals as it did 60 years ago. Logic dictates that the more something is messed around with, the less good it is for you. Eat smart! :) (http://www.nutrition-matters.co.uk/free_docs/changingdietconsequences.htm) And as a sidebar for you Dr. Oz addicts, here is some good information that he has for the over 35 set :) http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/your-over-35-survival-kit ~ RECIPE IDEASHere is a link to a really good use for Spaghetti Squash:http://shine.yahoo.com/food/recipes/spaghetti-squash-italiano-537370.html
My Paleo friends can drop the parm and mozzarella, and the gluten free pals can enjoy this meal :) ~ HEALTHY OILSThis particular video addresses misinformation about "healthy" oils. SO MUCH GOOD STUFF in a 6 and a half minute video. Totally worth your time listening to.

Cheese and butter! (They ship it and it's awesome!) http://www.vellacheese.com My favorite organic gardeners! :) http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Garden-Keeper/187743851281900 Want to find out how many calories different activities burn? http://www.fitday.com/webfit/burned/calories_burned.html ~WHAT I JUST SAW ON YAHOOThere is good information all around. Who doesn't love a good and after story? I saw one about a Mother and Daughter that lost over 400 pounds and saw a great idea that they do - Whenever they go out to dinner, they ask for an extra plate. When their food arrives they take everything off their plate that isn't good for them and put it in a pile on that plate, making it unappetizing and allowing them to enjoy the healthy portion of their food. Great idea ladies! http://health.yahoo.net/articles/weight-loss/photos/we-lost-354-pounds#0
~ARE YOU BORING? I HOPE SO! Just saw this too! I couldn't have written this better.... http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/11/15/are-you-boring/ ~MAKE LIFE INCONVENIENTThat almost sounds counter intuitive in the day of drive thru, delivery, cars, internet and people in general trying to make our lives easier.
The problem is that it slows down our metabolism! Why do our bodies need to burn calories if we give it constant access and no need to burn? The challenge is this - make your life a little inconvenient. If it involves "work" you're on the right track. Is it better to pop a dinner into a microwave or throwing a meal together? No brainer, I don't even have to point out the nutritional bonus points along with the calories burned just by standing for a bit to cook your own meal. Think about what you can do to put more steps in your day (you might want to make sure your shoes aren't what's keeping you from doing that). An inconvenient life not only makes you stronger, it gives you a sense of accomplishment and that's something you can't package :) ~ RUNNING!I had no idea there were different ways to run, and I've played sports and worked out for years! The way described here really makes sense in helping reduce injuries.
