You knew it was coming, and I'm not pulling any punches here. What is all that crap you have in your pantry and refrigerator?! Oh, sorry, I was talking to me :D lol Seriously though, while working on changing my lifestyle one of the things that has needed to change was the food I buy. I don't have a great deal of money but what I buy doesn't cost a lot except time. My best friend, Sean, said something that has been resounding in my head. She said "If it doesn't take some time to prepare, then you probably shouldn't be eating it". Woah, she is right!
Below is a list of pantry items I use and am adding to it as I go along. This is just so I have a convenient reminder before I go grocery shopping. Please note: If you're using my shopping list, I do not have any health problems to address other than my weight. Often, items that are non-fat have a higher sugar content so please be aware if you are restricted in your diet.
Eggs (free range if you can, or better yet, straight off your neighbor's farm!) Cheese Yogurt
Flax Raw honey Stevia Green tea
Canned and Misc.
Coconut oil Cold pressed olive oil Avocado oil Apple cider vinegar with the mother Reduced fat chicken/beef broth Canned tomatoes Ketchup (no sugar type, but better to make your own) Sweet and spicy mustard (no sugar) Pickles Peppers Olives Almond butter Roasted peppers (in a jar) Ortega chilis
I'm a working mom who hates to waste food so I try and keep my freezer packed with the things that will go bad quickly because I don't have a lot of help eating it if it was fresh.

I am terrible when it comes to meat. I know next to nothing and am really picky about it. Therefore, I don't use a whole lot of different kinds so please do not take this as being how everyone needs to shop. Oh yeah, and I like fish but I'm not that good at preparing it so that's not really on my list either. It's a good thing to have though! With that said:
Chicken parts (I like chicken breasts best) Ground beef or ground turkey (low % of fat) Grass Fed! Tri Tip (if I'm getting all wild and crazy) Whole chicken roaster (a lil lemon, a lil rosemary...delish!) Sausage Bacon Whatever meat sounds good to you!
What! No soda? No juice? Nope. When you change your lifestyle the drink of choice is water. Yeah, water can get boring but when you have a good tea it becomes awesome!
